BRIEF: To create an interactive sculpture for a private wedding celebration in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia. The wedding sculpture explored the imagery and concept of objects which bind, and the process of gathering rural, natural and personal objects the bride and groom would gather for their own nest.
The objects became the embodiment of each guest as they bore witness to the marriage leaving a thumbprint inside a print of a bowerbird nest.
60 guests. Each guest photographed with a hand drawn object. On the back of each object is a print of a bower bird nest. Each guest makes a thumbprint in the nest.
The images are bound with a blue velvet ribbon and packaged in a handmade recycled timber box with glass lid.
